  1. How do you care for an injured kitten?
Taking the kitten to the vet is best. In the meantime, you will want to keep the kitten as calm as possible by keeping down loud noise, keeping away curious children, and keeping other animals separated from it. Also, the kitten needs to be kept warm. You will want to let it hear your voice and feel your attention, because cats, especially when injured are highly sensitive and non- trusting.

  3. If a cat is constipated is it normal if he scrapes his bum on the carpet and leaves stains on it?
Yes, this is called "scooting" and dogs do it as well. Call the vet for treatment or get a product at the pet store that will help. Make sure they have lots of water to drink. One product used to be called Cat-Lax, and was meat flavored and the consistency of Vaseline. One way to get them to eat it is to put it on their nose. A cat will always wash her face and take in the medicine this way. You can also smear it on their front paw, and they will lick this as well.

  4. If your cats have running eyes and are sneezing a lot will this go away on its own or do you need to take them to a vet?
It can be a common viral infection that lots of cats get. Especially if they are allowed to roam outdoors. The big name for it is, rhinotracheitis. It causes the cats eyes to become irritated with mucus and watery. And the cat will sneeze almost non-stop. Most cats recover from it without medication, but there can be complications. It will be a good idea to have them seen by a vet.

  5. Is it normal for a cat to lose one or two whiskers now and again and do they grow back?
Provided there are no signs of illness, injury, or infection " If there are get your friend to the vet ASAP". Then yes, it is ok and quite normal for a cat to loose their whiskers.. Even though they may be a little clumsy at times. "Cats whiskers are used to help them keep their balance, sense of direction, as well as to judge how close they are to certain objects." So if your cat is missing more than a couple of whiskers and is occasionally bumping into things he never has before,{Don't be suprised by it}. Give it a couple of weeks and you should notice the whiskers starting to regrow..

  6. What are bumps on the head of a kitten?

It depends on what size they are and if they are leaking any fluids. They might be a sign of an allergic reaction to something your cat eats or touches. If they start to really bother your cat or you, I suggest you see a vet to find out for sure what they are.

Also it could be a flea mound. My cat has had one before. If you leave it alone it will go away. This happened when she got fleas, because she is an indoor cat but she got outside and i guess they just jumped on to her.

  8. What are white wiggly gross worms in the cat's feces and how can they be treated?

If the worms look like white rice, then they are probably tape worms. If they are longer, they are probably round or hook worms. Either way, your cat needs to be wormed. If the worms found in your cat's stool are tapeworms, your veterinarian will have to provide a prescription dewormer like Drontal or Droncit to kill the worms. Other types of worms can be killed with regular heartworm prevention or over the counter wormer.

    • The most common type of worms are tape worms. They're usually caused when your cat ingests fleas. Not only will you need to have your vet provide Drontal or Droncit, but you will probably need a good flea medication.
